Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
The transition movement is a fascinating approach which deals with the central issue of a sustainable future, localisation. I have observed the transition towns movement, and with friends here in Austria we are starting projects to support not only local transition processes, but focus on communication between localities.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I founded this website with the help of friends in the US because I think we need better tools for communicating between communities and people all over Europe. As founder of GIVE (Globally Integrated Village Environment) I think that localisation can only be successful if it is connected with global communication and support, free sharing of knowledge, building of repositories etc. Simultaneous telecooperation is the key issue.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
By adding VideoBridges and helping people connect

Great, thanks! I've forwarded it to the youth, and will wait and see if they can manage to 'lift' this project; I only function as 'Coach', and they are the ones who have to make it happen...
Cheers,
Max

Cheers, Max

The Post Carbon Manifesto

http://postcarbon.org/manifesto

"Our 21st century dependence on 20th century hydrocarbon energy (fossil fuels) is the root of all the economic and environmental threats we face. Individually, each of these challenges would test us. Their combined force will reshape our planet and society in unimaginable ways.

All of the debts for society's century-long industrial fiesta are coming due at the same time. We have no choice but to transition to a wo

Swiss initiative to foster new communication concepts against nuclear energy

Never Again Nuclear Energy - is the name of a swiss iniative that started a competition for the best communication concept to counter the growing momentum for nuclear energy.

The winner gets paid in ecologically soundly produced electricity! The competition will close in May.

Formulating integral visions for 2009

Here are two contributions to a larger image of a positive future from the USA:

New Urbanists calling for retooling the industry and New Vista is creating a scheme of Rectangular Villages (oh how I hate these grids anyway).

at least interesting!
